In order to allow your body to move in its fullest expression, loose fitting clothing is encouraged. BUT wearing what you feel comfortable in is most important. Dressing in layers may also be helpful. We don't want you being too hot/cold to take you out of the experience.
Street shoes are not allowed to be worn in the studio. Typically, we dance barefoot, or you may wear a dance shoe if you need more support.
Please bring your own water to drink at any time during class.
You may bring a mat and/or cushion if you would like to do any floorwork or sit comfortably during any part of the dance.
If you would like to bring a journal, we will have time before and after dancing to write down anything you feel is significant from your experience.
Experience the freedom of self-expression through movement in a group setting. Benefits of group classes include sense of community and connection with others, allowing yourself to be witnessed, group pricing and fun!
Explore vulnerability and connection with self by participating in an individual movement session. Benefits of individual sessions include personalized playlists, privacy for full expression and movement that supports your unique goals/needs.

What happens in dance class, stays in dance class.
Music is a powerful conduit for initiating movement, emotions and memories. Unique playlists are created to encourage you to explore and connect with your body through movement/dance. Music tends to elicit emotional responses. Whether it is joy, grief, rage or confidence, let the music move through you.

PLEASE let yourself complete the emotional expression. Cry as much as you need to while in session. I promise those are cleansing tears.
Group and individual sessions are held at local dance or yoga studios.
Individual sessions $150/session
Group class prices vary by location

Engaging in new dance moves and improving coordination can boost self-confidence and self-esteem. Movement therapy forces most of us out of our comfort zone, so when we show ourselves that we can do new things and the world does not end, we naturally feel better about ourselves.
Movement can serve as a form of emotional release, allowing individuals to express and process difficult emotions in a non-verbal way.
Dance requires focus and concentration on the present moment, allowing participants to practice mindfulness and develop greater awareness of their body and emotions.
Through dance, individuals can develop a more positive relationship with their bodies, focusing on strength, flexibility, and the joy of movement rather than appearance. However, appearance can be a focus in movement therapy by addressing any negative thoughts/feelings related to appearance.
Following rhythmical patterns can improve cognitive function, including memory, attention, and executive function. Additionally, moving your body in new ways stimulates the brain to create new neural connections.
Dance allows individuals to express themselves creatively, tapping into their unique movement style and personal narrative.
Setting and achieving dance-related goals, whether it's mastering a new technique or performing in front of an audience, can foster a sense of accomplishment and pride.
